Transportation Network Company Insurance is a liability insurance policy that specifically covers liabilities arising from a driver’s use of a vehicle in connection with a transportation network company’s online-enabled application or platform. Like Uber And Lyft.
Transportation Network Company means an organization, including, but not limited to , a corporation, limited liability company, partnership, sole proprietor, or any other entity , operating in California that provides prearranged transportation services for compensation using an online-enabled application or platform to connect passengers with drivers using a personal vehicle. Activities related to Transportation Network Company are divided into three periods:
1. Period One : Begins when an insured is logged in to a digital network or similar connection for the purpose of seeking requests for a passenger(s) and ends when the insured has accepted a request for a passenger(s). Includes both the initial time an insured is logged in before his/her first passenger and also the time between when one passenger exits and a new request for passenger(s) has not yet been accepted.
2. Period Two : Begins when an insured accepts a request for a passenger(s) and ends when the passenger(s) enter the vehicle.
3. Period Three : Begins when a passenger(s) enters the vehicle and ends when the passenger(s) exits the vehicle.
